Privacy

This is a reference site. There are no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and nothing to sign up for, so there is very little to collect and nothing to sell.

What the server records

Ordinary web server logs: the page requested, the time, an IP address and a browser user-agent string. They exist so the site can be kept running and are not used to build a profile of anybody.

What is stored in your browser

One thing: the filters you set on the tent listing, kept in sessionStorage so that opening a tent and coming back does not reset them. It is cleared when you close the tab, it never leaves your device, and the site works without it.

Analytics

If Google Analytics is enabled on this site it records aggregate page views. You can opt out for every site at once with Google’s browser add-on.

Advertising and links

There is no advertising on this site, no sponsored placement, and no links to shops — not affiliate links, not untagged ones. Nothing on this site earns money when you buy a tent, which is also why the rankings can be ordered purely on numbers. The few outbound links are to reference material and carry noopener; once you follow one you are on someone else’s site under their policy.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
