Big Agnes Bunk House
The Bunk House is the Big House with the weather protection added back: same 58-square-foot floor and stand-up height, plus a 34-square-foot covered vestibule on one side, 15 on the other, and a 23-square-foot awning over the door. Total covered area comes to more than the floor. It weighs fourteen pounds in the 4-person size, which is a lot even for a car tent, and it costs $100 more than the Big House — both of which buy you the ability to cook, change and sit outside in rain.

Family camping in genuinely wet places, where the covered area matters as much as the sleeping area.
Snow Peak Alpha Breeze
Four doors — one on every side — is the Alpha Breeze's whole idea, and it produces the best-ventilated family tent in this catalog by a wide margin. Snow Peak took its cues from A-frames and Adirondack shelters rather than from dome tents, so the profile is a long ridge rather than a bubble, and 77 inches of peak height across 77 square feet works out to 19.3 square feet per person at the rated four, the roomiest family tent here per head.
