Nemo Hornet Elite OSMO
Twenty-seven ounces for a double-wall, two-door, pole-supported two-person tent is remarkable, and the Elite is one of very few tents that gets there without Dyneema. What pays for it is everything else: a 1200 mm floor, a 37-inch peak that is the lowest of any three-season tent in this catalog, and $700. This is the tent for someone whose base weight is already under ten pounds and who has run out of other things to cut.

An experienced ultralight hiker who wants a double wall and has already cut everything else.
Durston X-Mid Pro
The Pro is the X-Mid in Dyneema: same offset-pole geometry, same clear doorways, 17.9 ounces instead of 31.3. Dyneema does not stretch at all, so the pitch you set is the pitch you get in any weather, and the 15,000 mm rating is an order of magnitude past silnylon. It also does not pack down as small as nylon, creases permanently, and costs $679. The Pro 1 at 15.5 ounces with 21.6 square feet of vestibule is the more interesting of the two — it has more covered storage than floor.

Thru-hikers who pitch in weather every night and want a shelter that holds its shape without retensioning.
